Translating Conversations
When someone replies to you in a language you don't read, the Translate Thread button lets you see the entire conversation in your language before you craft a reply.
When to Use It
You sent a message in French to a prospect in Paris. They replied in French. You don't read French. Instead of switching to Google Translate, you can translate the thread right inside ReachDraft.
Step by Step
1. Open the Conversation
Go to LinkedIn Messaging and open the conversation thread you want to translate.
2. Select Reply Mode
Open ReachDraft and click "Reply" in the Format buttons. The conversation will be scanned automatically.
3. Click the Translate Button
After the scan completes, a button will appear below the scan status:
"Translate to Portuguese" (or whatever your language is set to)
Click it. The button will briefly show "Translating..." while it processes.
4. Read the Translation
A Translation Preview section will appear below the profile section, showing the full conversation translated into your language. Each message keeps its sender label so you can tell who said what.
5. Generate Your Reply
Now that you understand the conversation, add any direction in the context field and click Generate Message. The reply will be written in whatever "Write in" language you've selected, not your language.
Important Details
- Translation is on-demand. You have to click the button. It doesn't happen automatically.
- It does not use your daily message limit. Translating is free and doesn't count as a message generation.
- The translation disappears when you switch modes. If you switch from Reply to Connection or any other format, the translation preview hides. It reappears if you go back to Reply and translate again.
- The target language comes from your "Your Language" setting. To change it, click [change] next to "You: [language]" in the Language section. See Your Language Setting.
Troubleshooting
- Don't see the translate button? Make sure you're in Reply mode and the conversation scan completed successfully.
- Translation failed? Check your internet connection and try again. The translation uses the same API as message generation.
- Wrong language? Click [change] next to "You: [language]" to update your language setting, then try translating again.
