Writing Comments on LinkedIn Posts
ReachDraft can generate thoughtful comments on LinkedIn posts that add genuine value to the discussion. No more staring at a blank comment box.
When to Use Comment Mode
Comment mode is designed for engaging with LinkedIn posts in your feed or on someone's profile. Use it when you want to:
- Build visibility by commenting on industry posts
- Start a conversation with someone before sending a connection request
- Add your perspective to a discussion without spending 10 minutes drafting
Step 1: Open a LinkedIn Post
Navigate to any LinkedIn post you want to comment on. This can be:
- A post in your feed
- A post on someone's profile activity
- A shared article or update
Step 2: Open ReachDraft and Select Comment
Click the ReachDraft icon in your toolbar, then select "Comment" from the Format buttons. ReachDraft will automatically scan the post content.
Step 3: Review the Post Preview
The profile section will hide and a Post Preview section will appear, showing:
- The post author's name
- The post content (or a preview of it)
This confirms ReachDraft captured the right post.
Step 4: Add Your Angle (Optional)
The context field changes to "Your angle" in comment mode. Use it to steer the comment in a specific direction:
- "I have experience with this from my work at..."
- "I disagree with the second point because..."
- "This reminds me of a similar situation in our industry"
If you leave it blank, ReachDraft will find its own angle based on the post content.
Step 5: Generate and Insert
Click "Generate Message" (the button text stays the same). Your comment will appear in the output area. Click "Insert Comment" to paste it directly into LinkedIn's comment box.
What Makes a Good LinkedIn Comment
ReachDraft generates comments that follow these principles:
- 2-4 sentences max — concise comments get more engagement
- References something specific from the post, not generic "Great post!"
- Adds value — an insight, experience, or thoughtful question
- No hashtags or tags — keeps it natural
- Matches the post's tone — serious posts get serious comments
